A cover design for ‘Under the Dome’, the latest thriller from ‘King of Horror’ Stephen King.

RESULT

In a bold break from publishing tradition we produced four different covers, focusing on characters from the book. Following the success of the covers, Tesco requested their own exclusive fifth cover to sell in stores nationwide.

THE NIV BLIBLE FOR HODDER (AND GOD)


BRIEF

Hodder’s NIV bible range is vast with over 50 different books in the collection. From a pictorial bible for children to a leather-bound bible for christenings, each one was completely unique in style. Our biblical task was to somehow streamline the cover designs of the entire suite of NIV bibles.

RESULT

Our solution brought the inside to the outside in the form of a typographic cross with the style depending on the contents; traditional or contemporary. Hodder & Staughton were awarded a highly rewarded 20 year publishing deal with the International Bible Society on the back of the new positioning. They were also awarded the prestigious title of ‘Christian Publisher of the Year’.

‘THE BEHAVIOUR OF MOTHS’ BY POPPY ADAMS (VIRAGO)


BRIEF

Publishers Little, Brown approached us to develop the cover for this Gothic thriller by new author Poppy Adams.

RESULT

The illustrative design references the interior walls of a mansion described in the novel which housed a multitude of pinned and preserved moths. The debut novel was shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards as well as being listed as BBC Radio 4 ‘Book at Bedtime’.

RESULT

We created a design where the numbers illustrated four key events explored in the book.

BRIEF

Design the official Googlebox handbooks for the hugely popular TV show.

RESULT

Working with super-talented illustrator Quinton Winter, we designed and art-directed both books for the ground-breaking series. As the show is based on the views of regular Joes, we went to the Amazon reviews page for feedback.
