THE BREWERY

BRIEF

Rebrand a leading East London events venue located in a former Whitbread brewery.

RESULT

From logo to imagery, the identity reflects the venue itself – a clash of old and new – where historic building meets contemprary events. Our branding fuses quirky vintage engravings with modern, fresh typography. As an events venue hosting a multitude of diverse events, the identity can and does completely flex whilst retaining the unmistakable Brewery personality and humour.

COVID SIGNAGE FOR THE BREWERY REOPENING

BRIEF

Create Covid safety signage for the tentative reopening of The Brewery.

RESULT

Fusing the client’s illustrative styling with a little humour, we displayed the Covid safety regulations in the Brewery’s unique style while remaining sensitive to the severity of the pandemic.

THE BREWERY | HOUSE MACABRE

BRIEF

Create branding and all supporting material for a one-off Halloween event ‘House Macabre’, a spooky hotel set in Pergatory. Fans of Beetlejuice will spot all the references...

RESULT

Our DM piece, (a tarot card featuring a single magpie) resulted in 3 complaints. We apologise for the scare but that’s the point of Halloween. The microsite displaying an old school clock counted down zero, the start of the event. The aged wallpaper was adorned with white chrysanthemums, a flower associated with funerals and death. Are you getting the ‘death’ theme? Subtle right?

THE BREWERY | THE GRUBSTREET AUTHOR

BRIEF

Create an identity for The Grubstreet Author, a new events venue in the Brewery portfolio. The identity had to be distinctive but still belong to The Brewery family.

RESULT

The venue’s location, Milton Street, was infamous for its gutter press in the Victorian era earning the nickname ‘Grubstreet’. Our identity played on this using a quill icon and a handwritten font. We also helped name the three areas within the building, each with its own unique history.

THE BREWERY | XMAS EVENT | ELECTRIC FLAMINGO

BRIEF

Create branding and marketing for ‘Electric Flamingo’ an entirely fictitious, notorious nightclub set in 1980s Miami. There was one stipulation from the client: strictly no Miami Vice references.

RESULT

From creating a local Miami news channel for the website to designing a real neon sign for the building, we left no stone unturned. Such was the authenticity of the world we created some people thought ‘Electric Flamingo’ was a real club!

THE BREWERY | XMAS EVENT | DREAM CIRCUS

BRIEF

Create branding and marketing for a Christmas event based on a fictional, magical circus troupe who mysteriously disappeared over 100 years ago.

RESULT

Our identity and the event were such a huge success, the template and branding were sold to a third party who are still hosting Dream Circus events across the UK and Ireland.

THE BREWERY | XMAS EVENT | ENCHANTMENT UNDER THE OCEAN

BRIEF

Create branding and marketing for a Christmas event transporting guests to a 1950’s American High School prom (loosely based on the greatest film of all time, Back to the Future).

RESULT

We immeresed ourselves in Americana, inventing our own High school, giving it a name, a newsletter and even a mascot to sell the retro prom-themed event. Unfortunately Covid happened but who knows. Maybe we can reset the Delorean and revisit the event some time in the near future.
